Israel is a country in Western Asia. Situated between the Eastern Mediterranean and the Red Sea, it is bordered by Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan on the east, and Egypt to the southwest. The country contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area.
Israel is home to a large number of different cultures and religions, including Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, and Bahá’ís. Of Israel’s population of almost 9 million people, 76% are Jewish, 20% are Muslim, 2% are Christian, and 1.6% are Druze.

Israel is a small country that is located in a very volatile area of the world. Because of this, the climate is very diverse. In the north, there is a temperate climate with hot, dry summers
and cold winters. The central region has a semi-arid climate with long, hot summers and mild winters. The Negev desert in the south has a hot desert climate with little rainfall.
Stepping into the culture of Israel, it is no surprise that this diverse country has a rich cultural heritage. From the dominant religions, Judaism and Christianity,
to the multiple languages spoken throughout the country, Israel has something to offer every culture.
The warm climate also adds to its appeal as a vibrant and colorful destination. You’ll find a wide array of local dishes, including well-known favorites like falafel and hummus.
Music is an important part of Israeli culture as well – with an
ever-growing selection of bands blending traditional and contemporary sounds.
What really gives this ancient land its unique charm though is its people. Locals here are known for their openness and willingness to share their customs with visitors from all over the world.
Even though English isn’t commonly spoken in Israel,
it’s easy to find people willing to go out of their way to help you understand a new culture!
Israel has so much to offer, especially when it comes to the culinary culture! The country’s cuisine is a combination of Eastern and Western food, with ingredients ranging
From beef and corn, to olives and zucchini. You’ll find spices like paprika and cumin as well as fresh herbs like parsley, oregano, and mint.
As you begin to explore Israel’s traditional foods, you’ll quickly discover they have a
unique blend of flavors that you can’t find elsewhere.
A few dishes that you must try are chumus (mashed chickpeas),
hummus (mashed chickpeas with garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and tahini) falafel (deep-fried chickpea balls)
shawarma (a sandwich-like dish with lamb or chicken) and halva (a sweet dessert).

You’ll want to visit some of the major sites and attractions in Israel while you are here. Tel Aviv is a great place to start as there is a lot of culture and history hidden in the city’s streets.
From there, head over to Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities in the world and home to many of Israel’s most iconic religious sites.
Don’t forget about Jaffa, an ancient port city full of fascinating historical buildings and archeological sites

Head south to visit Ein Gedi Botanical Gardens, or take a drive up north along the Mediterranean coast and check out Haifa’s golden beaches.
You can also explore some of nature’s hidden gems on hiking trails around Mount Tabor, or discover ancient ruins at Megiddo National Park.
